Do I need to take the PSAT, SAT, or ACT????

The PSAT is a practice test for the SAT. It is offered once a year in October to JUNIORS. For the 2023-2024 school year, CNS will be offering the PSAT on Saturday, October 14th, 2023 from 7:30 am until around noon. 
Online Exam registration will begin on approximately Tuesday, September 7th at 12:00 AM and end on approximately Wednesday, September 20th at 11:59 PM. To register, students should visit www.TotalRegistration.net/PSAT/331378. To complete registration, students must answer all of the required questions. Registration is not complete until students have printed the PDF of the confirmation page that is provided at the end. The registration fee is $27. The PSAT will be DIGITAL for the first time in October 2023. Students must bring their student issued chromebook FULLY charged on test day. We will not be able to accommodate having students plug in their chrombooks during testing. 

*If you are planning on attending a 4 year college or university, check each college's website to see if they require these test scores. A lot of colleges have gone test optional now. 

*It is a good idea to take each test at least once (take the ACT with the writing section; the SAT no longer offers the writing section)

*If you are attending a community college, these tests are NOT required if you plan on completing your Associates Degree

*If you are going to start at a community college and then transfer out before graduation, you may need to have these test scores


Important Testing Day Reminders:
*Students must bring their admission ticket AND a valid form of identification with them. You will NOT be admitted without these!!
*Students must bring their own calculators. The test site does NOT provide them.
*Mechanical pencils are NOT allowed.
*Cell phones and any other electronic devices are NOT allowed in the testing room!
*If testing has gone digital, you must bring your own school issued device to test on. The device must be FULLY charged!



Testing Accomodations
Please note that if your child uses testing accommodations, documentation must be submitted ahead of time to the College Board for the SAT and to the ACT for the ACT exams. Please refer to the dates listed below for deadlines. The required forms for testing accommodations are available under downloads. Please submit these completed forms to your student's school counselor.
