Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation with Honors
*In order to get an honors distinction on a diploma, the Regents exam average must be a 90 or higher without rounding up. For a Regents with Honors Diploma we use the ELA, Global History, US History, ONE math, and ONE science exam (5 total). For a Regents with Advanced Designation with Honors Diploma we use the ELA, Global History, US History, all THREE math, and TWO science exams (one must be the Living Environment or Life Science:Biology Exam). (8 total).

Regents Diploma
Total Number of Credits: 22
English Language Arts - 4 units
Social Studies - 4 units (2 units of Global History, 1 unit of American History, ½ unit of Participation In Government, and ½ unit of Economics)
Mathematics -3 units (may include Informal Algebra, Algebra 1, Intermediate Algebra, Algebra 2A, Algebra 2B, Algebra 2, Geometry, College Algebra, and Financial Algebra)
Science - 3 units (one course in life science, one in physical science, and a third in either life sciences or physical science)
Health - ½ unit
The Arts - 1 unit in Art (Studio Art, Media Arts, Creative Crafts, DDPA, or DDPB) or Music (Music in Our Lives, Basic Musicianship, Music Theory 1, Band, Orchestra, or Chorus)
World Languages** - 1 unit
Physical Education - 2 units
Sequence Courses or Electives - 3½ units
Examinations: 5
Students must pass the following Regents examinations with a 65% or greater:
- Comprehensive English
- Global History and Geography
- United States History and Government
- One (1) in Mathematics (Algebra 1, Geometry, or Algebra 2)
- One (1) in Science (Living Environment or Life Science: Biology, Earth Science or Earth and Space Science, Chemistry, or Physics)
** A student identified as having a disability which adversely affects the ability to learn a language may be exempted from the WL requirements if the student’s individualized education program states that such requirements are not appropriate.
Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation
Total Number of Credits: 22
English Language Arts - 4 units
Social Studies - 4 units (2 units of Global History, 1 unit of American History, ½ unit of Participation In Government, and ½ unit of Economics)
Mathematics - 3 units (may include Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Financial Algebra)
Science - 3 units (including one course in life science, one in physical science, and a third in either life sciences or physical science)
Health - ½ unit

World Languages** - 3 units (OR 1 WL unit and a five unit sequence in Career and Technical Education, or a five-unit sequence in the Arts; must take Career and Financial Management as a requirement for the sequence).

Examinations: 8 Regents Exams plus World Languages Exam taken during year 3
Students must pass the following Regents examinations with a 65% or greater:
- Comprehensive English
- Global History and Geography
- United States History and Government
- Three (3) in Mathematics (Algebra 1 AND Geometry AND Algebra 2)
- Two (2) in Science (one MUST be Living Environment or Life Science: Biology and one in physical science)
- PLUS the exam for World Languages (unless exempt through IEP or using a five-unit sequence substitution provision)
** A student identified as having a disability which adversely affects the ability to learn a language may be exempted from the World Languages requirements if the student’s individualized education program (IEP) states that such requirements are not appropriate.
