Community Eligibility ProvisionThe North Syracuse Central School District has been selected to participate in a new free meal program for the 2019-2020 school year. Through the USDA’s Community Eligibility Provision program, students at three qualifying schools will receive a free breakfast and free lunch every school day for the 2019-2020 school year.
The following schools are part of the Community Eligibility Provision program:
- North Syracuse Early Education Program
- Roxboro Road Elementary School
- Roxboro Road Middle School
What does this mean for children attending one of the above schools?
All students at Roxboro Road Elementary School and Roxboro Road Middle School will receive daily school breakfast and lunch meals at no charge to their household during the 2019-2020 school year. All North Syracuse Early Education Program FULL-DAY students will receive a free breakfast kit and a free lunch kit. Students attending the North Syracuse Early Education Program for the HALF-DAY schedule, will receive a free breakfast or lunch kit every school day. If students prefer to bring meals from home, they will still receive free milk at school.
*The district will still be requesting applications from households with a student participating in the CEP; however, receipt of free breakfast and lunch meals does not depend on returning it. Completing the application is still helpful for other programs such as school grants and may be used to determine if your household is eligible for additional benefits.
