ABOUT

North Syracuse Central School District Essential Standards are the learning expectations that define what all students should know and be able to do at each grade level and in every subject. These standards are grounded in the New York State P-12 Learning Standards, which provide a consistent, state-approved framework for academic learning from Pre-K through grade 12. The standards articulate clear learning goals across subject areas so that instruction, assessment and curriculum are aligned with high expectations for student success.

While New York State sets these learning expectations, curriculum decisions (what, how and when students learn the content) are made by NSCSD to meet the unique needs of our learners and community. Our report cards are designed to reflect the majority of our essential standards; however, you may notice that not all standards are listed, as they have been streamlined for clarity and focus.
