NSCSD committed to safety - updates being made to security at Michael J. Bragman Stadium

The North Syracuse Central School District is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all students, staff and visitors to all of its facilities. Over the years, the district has made numerous changes to address building security. Some of the many changes have included:
  • Installation of the Raptor visitor registration system in all buildings;
  • Creation of single point of entry at all school buildings;
  • Expansion of partnership with local law enforcement agencies to include SROs at all schools;
  • Availability of the Tip411 reporting system for all secondary schools;
  • Installation of camera surveillance and monitoring systems;
  • Addition of staff in the area of SEL to improve identification of and support for distressed students.

NSCSD Superintendent of School Daniel Bowles spoke about the district’s extensive work in the area of school safety saying, “The District has made significant investments over the years and will continue to do so as technology develops and additional tools become available. We are fortunate to have excellent relationships with law enforcement and we rely on their expertise to guide our processes and procedures.”

In accordance with recent expert recommendations, beginning immediately, the district is requiring the following measures for attendees of home football games at the Michael J. Bragman Stadium:

The North Syracuse Central School District Athletic Director Tim Bednarski commented on the updates. “Our athletes should be able to fully appreciate the camaraderie of being on a team and the fun of competition,” Bednarski said. “Staff and spectators deserve the ability to safely enjoy being a part of their school community without having to worry. We appreciate the advice of our experts so we can ensure these things happen.”
