CNS musicians invited to All-State

Six Cicero-North Syracuse High School musicians have been selected as participants and/or alternates for the 2023 NYSSMA All-State Performing Ensembles, which will be held in Rochester, November 30 - December 3, 2023. The conference, including the final concerts, will take place at the Rochester Convention Center and the Eastman Theatre. Thousands of students auditioned for this honor last spring at solo and ensemble festivals throughout the State. The students performed a level 6 solo and were evaluated by a NYSSMA adjudicator.

The following students were selected:
Aiden Hanas - Alternate - Jazz Bass
Andrea Iqbal - Symphonic Band - Piccolo
Ava Tyler - Vocal Jazz - Jazz Soprano Voice
Lydia Morris - Alternate - Trumpet
Madelynn Hilt - Alternate - Piccolo
Natalie Miles - Alternate - Alto Saxophone
Andrea Iqbal achieved a PERFECT score on both her flute AND piccolo. She was chosen for 1st Piccolo in the Symphonic Band and an alternate on flute. Only 2 piccolos were chosen across the state!

Ava Tyler will be representing our district in the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, which only choses 20 students from across the state.  Ava is one of 5 sopranos that were chosen this year.

Natalie Miles had a PERFECT score on her solo. After being selected to last year’s NYSSMA Symphonic band, she is an alternate for this year’s festival.
Aidan Hanas scored a 99 on his upright bass jazz solo and is 1st alternate for the jazz groups.
Lydia Morris (trumpet) scored a 99 and Madelynn Hilt (piccolo) scored a 100; both landing in an alternate position.

Mrs. Rausa and Ms. Seamans join our whole community in Congratulating our outstanding CNS musicians!
