French students enjoy weekend trip to Montréal, Canada

Fascinating, amazing, diverse, bonding, wondrous, and exciting - that’s how some CNS French students are describing a recent field trip to Montréal, Canada. It was the first time in almost a decade that a field trip to Canada has been organized.

It was a whirlwind trip which included visits to the Pointe à Callière museum, scenic overlook Mont Royal, and the BioDôme. At the Pointe, students learned about the history of the city and how it has transformed over the years. While visiting the BioDôme, students explored five different ecosystems.

“I think the trip was very immersive and really showed me how the culture is different in a way that we can't see in a classroom. I think the trips are a great experience for everyone  in learning to be more independent as well as just expanding our knowledge, so overall, I think that future trips outside of the country should be supported” said student Kate Byrnes.

The students also took part in a walking tour of the city. Tour guides pointed out important buildings throughout the city.

“This trip gave us an opportunity to express what we’ve learned so far and getting to see words and things we’ve learned about in French in real life was so exciting and made everyone thrilled about learning the language and culture” said student Riley Clarke.

Special thanks to French Teacher Jessica Keane for sharing details about this memorable trip with us.
