We want to hear from you! Take the North Syracuse Central School District Communications Survey by Nov 4

The North Syracuse Central School District recently launched a campaign to strategically improve its schools and classrooms over the next five years. Using the Brighter Together five-year strategic plan as a roadmap, the district is committed to the mission of educating all students to the highest levels of academic achievement while preparing them to be productive, responsible, ethical, creative and compassionate members of society.

As part of the strategic planning process, the NSCSD is conducting a districtwide survey to gather community input about the district’s communications efforts. All students, staff, parents and community members are invited to take a 17-question online communication survey from Monday, October 24 through Friday, November 4.

The survey is part of the district’s independent communications audit, which will be ongoing throughout the school year. Auditors are reviewing district communications processes and practices and evaluating them based on a national benchmarking tool developed by the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA). The audit process also includes a review of print and online communications, interviews with key employees, and focus groups with employee, student and community groups.

North Syracuse Central School District Superintendent of Schools Daniel D. Bowles encourages all community members to give feedback through the audit process. “In order for the District to truly achieve its mission and goals and realize our collective vision, we need to hear from all stakeholders,” he said. “Please take a few moments to complete the brief survey so we know what is working well and what we need to improve.”

All survey and focus group responses will be anonymous, so participating residents are encouraged to be open and honest with their feedback. District leaders anticipate that the results of the communications audit will provide them with information about what the district does well, identify areas for improvement, and outline steps district employees can take to better communicate with the entire school community.
