On Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Syracuse University Skytop, 6 teams representing Gillette Road Middle and Roxboro Road Middle competed in an out of this world experience: the CNY MOST Rocket Team Challenge. Teams of students worked together to assemble, paint and ultimately launch rockets.
Teams were scored based on subject knowledge, apogee calculation/precision, rocket aesthetics, flight performance, and “eggstronaut” recovery/experience. Two teams from the NSCSD won awards in the competition. In the junior division, Team “It Isn’t Rocket Science” took third place, and Team “M.U.S.T.A.R.D.” took fourth place.
