District Asking K-4 Families to Respond to Return to In-Person Learning Survey by March 12

On Thursday, March 4, 2021 our County Executive and County Commissioner of Health announced new guidance for schools.  These guidelines include reducing social distancing from 6 feet to 3 feet, polycarbonate "plexiglass" barriers for all students and a continued mask mandate for students and staff.  The reduction of social distancing guidelines will likely allow the NSCSD to expand our "in-person" instruction for K-4 students.

We are working through the many logistics and challenges associated with returning more students to our schools.  These include staffing adjustments, rewriting master schedules, increased furniture needs, rerouting bus runs, updating safety protocols, preparing for increased student drop-off, etc.  We anticipate being able to offer 4-5 days of "in-person" instruction to all K-4 students following a "typical" school year schedule.  We hope to implement these changes following our Spring Recess.

We are requesting that all parents complete this survey by 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 12. Please click here to take the survey.

Parents of our 15:1, 12:1:4 and 8:1:1 do NOT need to complete this survey.  Teachers of these programs will communicate directly with you.

Please note that your selection is final once submitted and we will be unable to make any additional changes to the instructional model for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.  All instructional changes will be confirmed, in writing from your child’s school on or around March 24th.  If you choose a change of instructional model for your child, it is likely that they will be assigned to a different teacher.

We anticipate that students will transition to their new instructional model after the Spring Recess.

Please complete one form for each child in your home. If you have any questions, please contact your child's home school.
