C-NS Performance Engineering Team returns from National Competition

The Cicero-North Syracuse High School Performance Engineering Team has returned from this year's Shell Eco-marathon in Sonoma California. The group, led by instructor Marty Miner, set out earlier this year to build two cars and race them in the National Competition. Thanks to successful trials, lots of hard work and donations from many local businesses, the teams made it to the Eco-marathon.

Each team successfully completed grueling technical inspections and made it onto the track. The Prototype electric vehicle completed four qualifying runs and placed 9th overall out of the 22 teams entered in that class. The 10 year-old hydrogen fuel cell in the urban concept vehicle was not up for the challenge this year and would not allow the team to complete a qualifying run.

Everyone on the team worked hard and will take away much more than a trophy.

Congratulations to the C-NS Performance Engineering Team!
