C-NS students participate in "Block Blitz" for Syracuse neighborhood

On September 14, thirty-two students from Cicero-North Syracuse High School’s Money & Banking classes participated in Home HeadQuarter’s Annual Block Blitz. Students spent the day working in the Syracuse community doing outdoor jobs that included painting, landscaping, raking, trimming putting up and taking down fences and more!

Students were happy to help others and see how much of an improvement they made is a short time. CORE Credit Union provided t-shirts, lunch and bus transportation.

Block Blitz is an annual community revitalization event that brings together homeowners, community partners, skilled laborers, and volunteers who donate their time and talents to help clean up, landscape, paint, and repair as many homes as possible in a single day in a high-need neighborhood.
Over the last five years, Block Blitz events have improved nearly 240 properties in low-income neighborhoods. This year’s event was held in the South Side neighborhood of Syracuse.
