Superintendent's Updates

The New York State Department of Health and Department of Education has created a COVID-19 School Report Card on which the NSCSD posts updates each school day. Click here to access the NYS School report card. To view information for the entire North Syracuse Central School District, click the public schools button and then type "North Syracuse CSD" into the search box. To view information for an individual school, type that school's name into the search box.  

This is an excellent resource that provides the following information:

•    An indication if a school is located in a red, orange, or yellow zone
•    The total number of staff, teachers, hybrid students, and remote students who have tested positive over the last 7 and 14 days 
•    The total number of staff, teachers, and students in a school
•    A graphical representation of the seven day trend in each school 

The District will continue to communicate directly with parents and guardians when their child is exposed and when school schedules are impacted. Additionally, the District will begin sending official Quarantine notices via e-mail on behalf of Onondaga County Department of Health when students and staff are quarantined.  

To help the NSCSD respond to positive cases in a timely and effective manner we request that parents contact the school nurse any time a student tests positive. This will assist with contact tracing and communicating with the NSCSD community.

All NSCSD students will take part in remote instruction after the holiday recess from January 4 through January 15. Hybrid instruction will resume on Tuesday, January 19.

All students at Cicero-North Syracuse High School (only) will take part in Remote Instruction on Tuesday, December 15 due to a water main break at C-NS. Because of the building closure, meal pickup will not take place at C-NS on Tuesday, December 15. Afternoon meal pickup WILL take place at NSJH, RRMS and GRMS on Tuesday, December 15.
December 14 There has been a water main break at the high school which has directly impacted the water supply to the school. While workers have been able to address the issue for the day, they will need to make extensive repairs to the school’s water lines. As a result, the water supply to the high school will need to be shut off and the school will not be able to open on Tuesday, December 15. Consequently, all students at Cicero-North Syracuse High School will take part in Remote Instruction on Tuesday, December 15.
 
C-NS High School staff will not have access to the building on Tuesday, December 15 and should bring home any materials needed to provide Remote Instruction.
