Public Listening Session Rescheduled for February 9
The North Syracuse Central School District public listening session originally scheduled for Wednesday, January 11, 2012, has been moved to Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Roxboro Road Middle School (300 Bernard Street) in Mattydale at 7:00 PM.
School District Administrators will be available at the session to listen to residents’ concerns and answer questions. For additional information, please contact Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, Stanley Finkle at 218-2118.
C-NS Academic Decathlon Team Places third in Section Competition
Congratulations to the 2012 Academic Decathlon Team. The team competed in the section 3 competition this weekend and won 3rd place overall as well as 3rd place in the super quiz. The team will now compete in the State Competition in March. The team members are Anna Bruzgulis, Edwina Kisanga, Eric Perdew, Nathan Clapper, Aine Evangilista, Michael Renz, Dylan Werts, Kevin Shane, Christopher Pavente, and Mahdi Mere.
Individual awards were earned by the following students.
Chris Pavente – gold medal in math, gold medal in science, bronze medal in Economics, and 1st place trophy in the varsity division.
Dylan Werts – Silver medal in music, silver medal in math, silver medal in science
Kevin Shane – silver medal in music, silver medal in language and literature, 4th place in varsity division
Eric Perdew – gold medal in math, silver medal in science, 5th place in honors division
Mike Renz – silver medal in math, 4th place in Scholastic division
Anna Bruzgulis – bronze medal in science, 6th place in honors division

Cicero-North Syracuse Musical Club Announces: Beauty and The Beast
The Cicero-North Syracuse High School Musical Club is excited to announce the spring musical will be “Beauty and The Beast”. This beloved musical will be presented in the C-NS auditorium March 15, 16, 24, and 25 at 7:00 p.m., and March 17 and 25 at 2:00 p.m. The award winning team of Holly Wilson (director), Caryn Patterson (musical director), and Lisa Stuart (choreographer) will again direct the show.

Senior Breanna Stewart Named USA Basketball's Female Athlete Of The Year
Stewart has been named the Female Athlete of the Year by USA Basketball. This award isn’t just for high school players; all players in the system are involved, including college and pro-players.
Breanna helped lead the Americans to the gold medal at the under 19 World Championships in Chile, leading the team in points, rebounds and blocks.
Stewart will now be nominated for the Olympic Committee’s Sportswoman of the Year honor.
