Roxboro Road Elementary Alumni Give Back to Community they Love

Jessica Nabewaniec, a Family Engagement Specialist for the NSCSD at Roxboro Road Elementary School, shared photos of the school's hat and mitten hand-out for students. Jessica shares that Dominick and Daniel Ciciarelli, alumni of Roxboro Road Elementary School, generously donated hundreds of hats and mittens for students at the school.

Daniel Ciciarelli is pictured as he prepares to drop off the donations at Roxboro Road Elementary School. Daniel is a 2011 graduate of C-NS and was the first graduate of the District to receive three Career and Technical Education (CTE) Endorsements on his high school diploma. Daniel feels that his education in the NSCSD prepared him well for a successful career. Daniel now serves as 3rd Ward Councilor for the Town of Salina.

Dominick, who is a 2008 graduate of Cicero-North Syracuse High School, and now a local businessowner, began his education with the NSCSD in the 4th grade at Roxboro Road Elementary School when his family moved from Florida. Dominick loved living in the District, especially in Mattydale, a place he fondly refers to as "the greatest place" and the "capital of the world." Because Dominick and Daniel are both now leading successful adult lives in the community they love, they find it important to give back to the community that helped them achieve their success. Dominick said, "Our goal and vision as a family is to put Mattydale on the map like it deserves and to make people want to come to see what Mattydale is all about! It isn't about getting credit, it's just about doing the right thing and helping others."

The donations were handed out to students before the holiday recess in order for them to enjoy some fun outdoor activities during the break. Thank you to the Ciciarelli family - we are proud to call you NorthStars!
