C-NS student selected for CNY Future Leaders of Tomorrow Award

Congratulations to Cicero-North Syracuse High School senior Ava Breitbeck for being selected by New York State Assemblywoman Pamela J. Hunter (128th District) for a CNY Future Leaders of Tomorrow award. The awards are presented annually to students who excel in the classroom and provide community service.

C-NS teacher Kim Linkinhoker, who nominated Ava for the award, said, "Ava has demonstrated leadership in so many ways. She recently stood in front of the Board of Education and spoke to them as an advocate for the district's Science Olympiad Team. She is involved in our 'Girls Who Code' organization, which empowers young women to become leaders in the fields of technology and computer sciences. Ava has a personal goal to help young women embrace their love of science and encourage them to pursue typically male-dominated careers. Additionally, Ava is captain of the varsity tennis team and a valued member of the National Honor Society Executive Board and STAR Leadership organization.”

Ava was invited to attend a recognition ceremony in January.
