Here are all the databases that the library has to offer.  If you need help searching, please see one of the librarians.

ASCD Education Resources

 

Search the electronic book collection of selected educational titles from the Association of Supervision and Curriculum.                                                           mediaCONNECT       Searches several databases including: Discovery Streaming's and Learn360's  collection of videos, audio clips, clip art and photos; NBC Learn collection of NBS video clips and documents; the OCM Boces collection of DVD's and material.  See your school librarian for the username and password.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  
Britannica Image Quest Contains more than a million images from diverse collections.  See your school librarian for the username and password.   NOVEList Allows its user to enter a book or author to locate other books and authors that they may like.  Users can also browse theme oriented lists.
 

Country Reports

Provides historical, statistical and cultural information on countries.   Opposing Viewpoints in Context This database is an all in one portal to an overview of controversial topics featuring a discussion of the topic, access to a variety of viewpoints, magazines, web sites connected to the issue, news, statistics, primary sources, videos, images, and audio.

EBSCO Databases

 

Provides a  suite of databases including MAS - Ultra, Health Source Consumer Edition, Newspaper Source, ERIC, Professional  Development Collection, History Reference Center, Advanced Placement Source, Literary Reference Center and others.   Points of View Provides viewpoints on controversial issues. This database contains articles, images, videos, and audio clips presented in an accessible format.                                                     

eLibrary

 

Provides access to a variety of databases thanks to the New York State Virtual Electronic Library that cover diverse subjects. Access full text magazines to do general research or use one of the many subject specific databases.   Proquest Historical Newspapers Provides full page and article images of The New York Daily Times which covers 1851-1857 and The New York Times from 1857 to 2009. See each page of the paper as it was published that day.
Gale Family of Databases Provides access to a variety of databases thanks to the New York State Virtual Electronic Library that cover diverse subjects. Access full text magazines to do general research or use one of the many subject specific databases.   SIRS Decades Provides an examination of decades from 1900s - 1990s. Provides a broad look at the decade and includes primary source documents, images and sound.

Gale Virtual Reference Library

 

Provides information from a variety of reference books.  Topics include: art, business, fashion, history, science, literature and social sciences.   SIRS Issues Researcher Contains the full text of articles that have appeared in magazines and newspapers as well as government documents. When you open SIRS look for the Top 10 Pro vs Con section. Click on one of these issues or click on more issues for the complete list.

Global Issues in Context

 

Explore information about other countries as well as examine issues that are facing all of us across the world. Read newspapers and other sources from across the globe. This database can be customized to display the publications that you select.   Student Resources in Context Provides topic perspectives by integrating a multitude of content including: reference / newspaper articles, primary sources, videos and audio content.

Hoovers

 

Offers proprietary business information.   Teaching Books Features interviews with authors, links to authors' websites, and links to information about books. Click on Login. Leave email address blank. See your school librarian for password.

Provides up-to-date, in depth information on the most debated topics of today. The database provides factual analysis and clear explanations of opposing points of view and as well as numerous special features including political cartoons.   Today's Science Includes coverage of the latest scientific discoveries and explains the concepts behind them. The database covers health, the environment, technology, life science, physical science, earth and space science, and science and society.
