Two Northstars align and shine for one epic night - March 31

On Friday, March 31 at 7 p.m., The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus (RJA), will be performing in the auditorium of North Syracuse Junior High School (NSJHS), as part of a 10 year anniversary worldwide tour, celebrating their platinum album, "Don't You Fake It". Opening for the national act will be the popular local stand-out group, the Civil Servants.

4D Productions, a student led tech crew, was able to book the show by reaching out to band management, and will be responsible for producing the event, running lighting, sound, staging and live video. The show features 23 year old Cicero-North Syracuse (C-NS) High School alumnus, Josh Burke, who attended both NSJHS and C-NS, and got his start on the very stage he is now returning to. Burke, back in 2008 and 2009, was in the school's talent show and certainly left an impact on audiences.

Fast forward to 2010, when Josh was attending a Red Jumpsuit show at The Lost Horizon. Due to a bizarre set of circumstances, chronicled in this 2011 Post Standard article, Josh was a given a rare opportunity to fly down to Florida and record some songs with frontman Ronnie Winter. In this kind gesture, Josh was the recipient of a "pay it forward" type deed and what followed is every kid's dream: the opportunity to be in a rock band and tour the world!

RJA and Civil Servants both have several connections to the CNY area. RJA's lead singer, Ronnie Winter and brother Randy Winter (rhythm guitarist) were born in Syracuse, and their mother and grandparents still reside there. Josh Moore, the 19 year old bassist in the opening band, Civil Servants, will also be returning to his old stomping grounds as well, being an alumni of both schools as well. Moore was also a Tech Crew participant and player in the school's talent show.

The Civil Servants have been a local success story as well and have played with well-known bands locally, and in other states such as Great White, Sponge, and 3 inch Fury. They play all genres of music, have had air time on both 95X and 93Q, and were one of the top contenders for the People's Choice Awards at the annual SAMMY awards in 2015. Rounding out the band are two brothers, singer Tyler and drummer Connor Stassi from Brewerton and guitarist Dustin Stout lives in LaFayette.

As a special treat for everyone involved, the concert will be filmed by 4D Productions and made into a Live "Don't You Fake It" world tour video product. The show will certainly live on past March 31.

RJA's "Don't You Fake It" album was certified platinum last year and features well known songs, including "Facedown" and "Your Guardian Angel". RJA has had 5 of their songs hit #1 on the Christian rock charts.

This concert is the second time these two groups are coming together. Back in September 2013, after a last minute cancellation of a Syracuse area show, RJA reached out to 4D Productions and teamed up with Civil Servants to treat the community to a flawless show at NSJHS.

General Admission tickets are on sale now for $15 and available at 4dproductions.org, NSJHS and C-NS during scheduled lunch periods. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door. Doors open at 6:30 for this dry-campus event.
