Dear Alumni: The alumni cook-out will be held on Friday, May 10th, 2013. Based on the feedback from alumni, they would like to see the alumni celebration moved to earlier in the season so they could watch the current players play. With this in mind, you are invited to watch the current varsity team play on Friday, May 10th, 2013, versus Oneida in a non- league game at the Gillette Road Complex beginning at 7:00 pm. This game is a part of the John Ilacqua Jr. Memorial Tournament with Oneida, West Genessee and Marcellus. Before the 7:00 pm CNS/Oneida game, we will be having the 2nd annual Cicero-North Syracuse Baseball Wall of Fame ceremony. 2013 inductees are below. The alumni cookout will be after the Wall of Fame ceremony beginning around 6:30 pm and throughout the varsity game. If you would like to be added to the Northstars Baseball Alumni e-mail distribition list please contact Coach Rockwell at krockwel@nscsd.org and he will add you to the list. If you are planning or purchasing a paver, please send in your order form as soon as possible. We will be installing the 2nd round of pavers this spring. 2013 Inductees 1940's – Elmer Westfall - NS class of 1946. Seven year pro. Slugged 87 homeruns. 1960's - John Unger - NS class of 1967. Two Sectional Championships, 2 time SU MVP, HR in first pro at bat. North Syracuse 1966 - 1967 Teams. Perhaps best team ever in Central New York. Won consecutive Sectional Championships and 43 games in a row; 50 - 2 record. Cicero-North Syracuse 1988 Team - State AA Finalist with 19-7 record. 2012 Inductees 1940's/1950’s – Mal Mallette & Dave Giusti, 15 year major league player, Pitcher – Pittsburgh Pirates 1960’s – Skip Kenny, Philadelphia and Atlanta organizations 1970’s – Dana Drisko, Cornell University 1980’s – Len Brutcher, 2nd round pick with the Chicago White Sox – 1988 1990’s – 95’ Team, State Final Four 2000’s – Matt Nandin, LeMoyne College, Independent League player
