Our Mission: The office of Security and Safety is committed to providing our students, staff, and visitors with the safest possible school environment. To achieve this mission, this office interacts with all staff, building administrators and directors to monitor internal events for adjusting plans and responses as necessary. In addition to partnerships developed with local emergency responders, this gives the district a comprehensive plan for dealing with both internal and external safety and security challenges.

Staff: To help provide a secure environment, the district employs security guards at several buildings. The district has also partnered with the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office to provide School Resource Officers (SROs) throughout the district. These SROs interact with both staff and students to provide an immediate law enforcement presence.

Staff ID cards:

For identification and access control purposes, all district employees are issued ID cards. If an employee’s card does not work, or is lost, please contact Bev Pontillo immediately.
