Opposing Viewpoints in Context
This database, now available to all who live in N.Y. State, is an all in one portal to an overview of controversial topics featuring a discussion of the topic, access to a variety of viewpoints, magazines, web sites connected to the issue, news, statistics, primary sources, videos, images, and audio.
Compared to EBSCO's Points of View the Opposing Viewpoints in Context user interface is less graphically oriented and the reading level likely to be more challenging than POV.
Tips for using:
- There is a listen feature so that students can hear the text being read aloud.
- Warning! The citation tool link does not work. However, there is an MLA citation listed at the very bottom of the article.
- A permanent link as well as a document ID number is given at the very end of each article.
