The North Syracuse Central School District Gifted Education Program is designed to meet the needs of intellectually gifted students in grades six through nine. The curricula focus is on higher-level critical thinking, research, computer work, topical enrichment, and creative expression.
At the conclusion of the eighth grade, gifted education students generally continue their education in specific honors courses, and/or are provided with challenging course work.
Student selection is coordinated by the Gifted Education Teacher and Director of ELA, using group ability tests, standardized achievement test data, teacher recommendations and student interviews.
For more information about the program call the ELA office at 218-2147.
