Academic Intervention Services
The purpose of the Academic Intervention Services program is to provide remedial instruction in the areas of reading, mathematics, writing and English as a Second Language (ESL) to all eligible students.
Students who meet the criteria on the North Syracuse Central School District’s adopted norm referenced test and/or score below the state determined proficiency level on the New York State Assessments, are mandated to receive Academic Intervention Services. State assessments are given in English Language Arts and math in third through eighth grades. When students fall below the state determined proficiency level on any of these assessments, they are eligible for Academic Intervention Services.
For further information regarding these programs, contact the ELA office at 315/218-2147 or the Math office at 315/218-2142.
